The federal highway 205 (abbreviation: B 205 ) is an important cross-connection between the A 7 and the A 21 in Schleswig-Holstein . It connects the southeastern part of the country with the Kiel region.

course

The federal highway 205 branches off the A 21 north of Bad Segeberg and leads via Neumünster to the A 7, junction Neumünster-Süd.

Changes

The B 205 originally ran from Bad Segeberg via Neumünster to Jevenstedt . In the city of Neumünster, the B 205 initially led directly through the city center via Rendsburger Strasse, Kuhberg and Großflecken, and then left the city via Brille and Segeberger Strasse in the direction of Kleinkummerfeld / Bad Segeberg. In order to relieve the city center of through traffic, the route was shifted to the western Inner Ring (Forstweg, Hansaring, Holsatenring, Sachsenring) in the 1980s . The B 205 met the A 7 in the north of Neumünster (motorway junction Neumünster-Nord ).

With the increasing continuation of the Baltic Sea motorway A 20 in Schleswig-Holstein and the construction of the A 21 to Bad Segeberg, a significant increase in traffic on the B 205 in the direction of the A 7 was to be expected in the 1990s. A southern bypass was therefore built between Willingrade and Rickling , which directly connects to the A 7 (Neumünster-Süd junction) and bypasses Neumünster to the south. As a result, the route from Neumünster to Jevenstedt was downgraded to the B 77 to the state road (L 328). The sections from Rickling to downtown Neumünster (K 114, L 322) have also been downgraded.
