|Bundesstrasse 611 in Germany|
|Operator:||Federal Republic of Germany|

The 2.8 km long section of the motorway from Löhne-Gohfeld was built as an advance for the A 5 planned to Bremen in the 1970s, and was previously part of federal highway 61 . In the further course, the B 611 largely follows the route of the former state road 773 (Knickstraße) and in the Vlotho district of Exter has a connection to the »Vlotho-West« exit and driveway of the A 2.
The planning approval decision was issued on December 20, 2012, was published on May 8, 2013 in the official gazette of the Herford district and could be viewed from May 21 to June 3, 2013. In February 2016, the first 700 m long construction phase began at the A 2 junction Vlotho-West, which was completed in 2017. The second construction phase began in 2017, of which the approx. 500 m long section between the end of the motorway-like B 61 and the new intersection with the B 61 towards Herford was approved in 2018. The rest of the federal road, which was originally planned for the end of 2019, was completed on July 15, 2019. With the completion, the motorway-like section at Löhne-Gohfeld was rededicated from the B 61 to the B 611, the part of the B 61 between Herford and Bad Oeynhausen was downgraded to a state road in early 2020.
The B 611 is the only German federal road with a number in the range between 600 and 699, and 611 is the highest federal road number assigned in Germany.
