The German federal highway 262 (abbreviation: B 262 ) consists of two short sections about 100B  km apart.

Rhineland-Palatinate

The northern section is in Rhineland-Palatinate in the Eifel . There the B 262 connects the A 61 (AS Mendig) with the A 48 (AS Mayen) and thus shortens the Trier - Cologne connection . In this capacity, it is part of the alternative route for closing the gap on AB 1 . It is partially run as a motorway-like road in the 2 + 1 system .

Hesse

The southern section is located in Hesse and connects the 1st Ring ( B 54 ) with the beginning of the A 643 to Mainz as Schiersteiner Straße in downtown Wiesbaden .
