course
The B 378 branches off at the northern entrance to Müllheim from the B 3, which runs roughly in a north-south direction, in a westward direction to Neuchâtel , in order to cross the Rhine Valley Railway after around 500 meters . About one kilometer further west, the feeder to Müllheim's »industrial area west of the B 3« branches off towards the south (K 4946 towards Karl Richtberg-Siedlung ). After about two more kilometers, you will reach the city limits of Neuchâtel. It touches the former northern border in a large arc in order to reach junction 65 (Müllheim / Neuenburg) of the A5 at the western end of the city . When crossing the Old Rhine , the B 378 leads to the French state border in the middle of the bridge, where it merges into the French Route départementale 39 (D 39) in the direction of Mulhouse . This first crosses the Grand Canal d'Alsace ( Rhine side canal ) before the village of Chalampé .
From 1940 to 1944 it continued as the Reichsstraße on the French side in Upper Alsace, which was under German civil administration , to the west to the border of the Territoire-de-Belfort ; in doing so, it crossed what was then Reichsstrasse 362 near Mulhouse .
