The federal highway 524 (abbreviation: B 524 ) was a German federal highway in southern Lower Saxony .

History / other

The federal highway 524 was only built in the mid- 1970s to allow a better connection to the federal highway 7 . In 2003 it was expanded into a motorway as part of the German Unity No. 13 transport project and became part of federal motorway 38 .

It ran from the "Friedland" junction on the federal highway 7 to the federal highway 27 between the villages of Friedland in Lower Saxony and Marzhausen in Hesse. It was about four kilometers long and created the link between federal highway 27 from the south and federal highway 7. Today it is the first part of the federal autobahn 38 from the current autobahn triangle Drammetal (formerly the Friedland junction on the autobahn 7) to Halle (Saale) and Leipzig.
