The German federal road 314 (abbreviation: B 314 ) begins in Lauchringen ( Waldshut district ) on the B 34 and leads through the Wutach Valley along the Wutach River and the Wutach Valley Railway via Stühlingen and Weizen (the beginning of the Museum Railway) to Grimmelshofen . Here she crosses under the railway line through a "needle eye" and now leaves the Wutach Valley. It continues, past the viaducts of the museum railway ( Sauschwänzlebahn ) and the towns of Fützen and Epfenhofen , in bends to the height of the Randen , which it reaches at around 800 m in the village of Randen . Here is the junction with the B 27 , which connects the eastern Upper Rhine region to the German motorway network at Donaueschingen to the north and leads south, referred to as the A4 from the Swiss border , via Schaffhausen to Winterthur . This connection with the German motorway network results in the great importance of the B 314 for the eastern Upper Rhine region. The B 314 runs from southwest to northeast to the village of Randen. From now on it swings to the southeast and leads down again via Tengen and Blumenfeld to Hilzingen . After the Hilzingen motorway junction, it is only a few kilometers until the B 314 joins the B 34 again at Singen (Hohentwiel) . In German territory, the B 314 bypasses the canton of Schaffhausen , which extends far across the Rhine to the north, while the B 34 ends in Erzingen west of Schaffhausen on the Swiss border and begins again in Thayngen east of Schaffhausen.

history

The Wutachtalstraße between Kadelburg and Randen was expanded into a Chaussee from 1750 . This route was designated as Baden State Road 54 in 1901 .

The National Highway 314 (as a precursor of the B 314) was introduced to the 1937th

Recently, a three-lane section of the A 98 from Waldshut-Tiengen-Ost has led directly to the B 314 (entrance and exit). The A 98 will also affect them in the future. One bridge has already been completed. → Map of the probable route ( 47 ° 37 ′ 51.7 ″  N , 8 ° 19 ′ 59.9 ″  E )
