history

Reichsstraße 208, which was set up around 1937 , originally only ran from Gadebusch to Ratzeburg. In the early 1960s this federal road was extended to Bad Oldesloe.

In the GDR the street had a different course. It branched off from the F 104 in Rehna and led via Carlow to the Lüdersdorfer district of Herrnburg, where it ended after 25 kilometers across from Lübeck on the inner-German border .

On September 12, 1989, the Kühsen fire brigade played at the inner-German border crossing for GDR citizens passing through.
