history

Ludersdorf

In the former border area nature was able to develop freely, as on Duvennester Moor
Sculpture “Overcoming Borders” between Schattin and Groß Sarau

Lüdersdorf was first mentioned in 1194 as Luderstorp (place of Lüders) in the Isfried partition contract .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Wahlsdorf, Wahrsow and Wahrsow, Hof (also Hof Wahrsow) were incorporated.

In the GDR era, Lüdersdorf was located directly on or in the five-kilometer-wide exclusion zone on the inner-German border , which is formed here by the Lübeck Landgraben . The former districts of Lenschow and Wahlsdorf were razed during this time.

After the border was opened in 1989, new opportunities arose for the community of Lüdersdorf - especially for the large district of Herrnburg - as a direct neighbor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. Lively construction activity began.

From 1952 to 1994 Lüdersdorf belonged to the Grevesmühlen district (until 1990 in the GDR district of Rostock , 1990–1994 in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). Since 1994 the community has been in the Northwest Mecklenburg district .

Districts

Boitin-Resdorf , a pure round village , was first mentioned in 1257. It was an independent municipality until 1950 and from 1950 to 1956 it was part of the Klein Mist municipality . The church, built at the beginning of the 20th century, was rededicated in 2020.

Duvennest , a former round village, was first mentioned as Duuennest on April 13, 1320 .

Groß Neuleben and Klein Neuleben , both places as round villages, used to be called Groß Mist and Klein Mist . They were merged in 1956, renamed and then formed the independent Neuleben community until 1991 .

Herrnburg was first mentioned in 1191. The old customs house in Herrnburg was built in 1783 on the foundations of the previous chapel as a two-story half-timbered building. The brick-Gothic village church in Herrnburg dates from the middle of the 13th century, the church tower from the first half of the 16th century. The urban development measure in Herrnburg-Nord on the border with Lübeck, which is subsidized by the state , has been the largest contiguous new development area with over 1000 apartments in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since 1992.

Bertolt Brecht and Paul Dessau wrote the singspiel “Herrnburger Report” in 1951, the content of which is Brecht's view of a confrontation between FDJ members on their return journey from the Germany meeting of the youth at Pentecost in 1950 with the Schleswig-Holstein police on the then inner-German border. On June 26, 1951, the FDJ in West Germany was banned throughout the Federal Republic in accordance with Article 9 (2) of the Basic Law .

Palingen , an anger village, was first mentioned in 1194 as Polengowe = place on the grove in Isfried's partition agreement.

Until 1937, Schattin was an exclave from Lübeck . The former Lübeck Wakenitzhorste in this area, Huntenhorst (opposite Müggenbusch), Brunshorst, Stoffershorst (opposite Absalonshorst) and Bothenhorst, were eliminated in the course of the expansion of the inner-German border .

Lenschow (originally Lenzekowe "Binsenort") and Wahlstorf ("Dorf des Vals") also belonged to the municipality of Lüdersdorf . Both districts were emptied during GDR times and today only exist in district names.

coat of arms

Coat of arms of Lüdersdorf
Blazon : “Split by a silver wave stake thread; in front, in red, a silver high cross surmounted by a golden crown; behind in blue nine (3: 3: 3) golden blossoms over a golden gear. "

The coat of arms and the flag were designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick . It was approved together with the flag on March 17, 2008 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the number 317 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Justification for the coat of arms: The wave stake thread in the coat of arms is intended to symbolize the location of the community on the Wakenitz. The high cross raised by the crown, the coat of arms of the Principality of Ratzeburg, reminds of the earlier affiliation of the places to the Principality of Ratzeburg, which emerged in 1648 from the secularized Stiftsland of the Diocese of Ratzeburg . The flowers represent the nine districts of the municipality. The cog should indicate the local businesses.

flag

The flag is striped in red, yellow and red across the longitudinal axis of the flag cloth. The red stripes each take up a quarter, the yellow stripe takes up half the length of the flag cloth. In the center of the flag is the municipal coat of arms, which takes up two thirds of the height of the flag. The relation of the height of the flag cloth to the length is like 3: 5.

Official seal

The official seal shows the municipal coat of arms with the inscription "GEMEINDE LÜDERSDORF • LANDKREIS NORDWESTMECKLENBURG".

Nature reserves

Pomertstein in the Schönberg State Forest

The Palinger Heide nature reserve is located in the northwestern municipality between Palingen and Lübeck-Schlutup . The nature reserve Wakenitzniederung extends along the Wakenitz south of Herrnburg with the Duvennester Moor and the old peat cuttings near Habershorst. In the forest south of Mr. Castle is since 1466 Gothic Pomertstein , a medieval punishment stone , even murder cheek called the former on the way to Saint Wilsnack reminiscent of the slain here Hinrik Pomert. The nature reserve is seamlessly continued on the Schleswig-Holstein side by the local nature reserve Middle and Southern Wakenitz. The nature reserves are thus part of the German Green Belt along the former inner-German border.

The first connection south of the municipality into the Lauenburg region is the Wakenitz bridge near Rothenhusen . The neighboring community of Groß Sarau in the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park suggested that the Wakenitz Bridge be rebuilt in 2008 in the area of its Nädlershorst district in order to improve the tourist infrastructure on both sides of the Wakenitz between Lübeck and Lake Ratzeburg . The bridge was built with funds from the Hamburg Metropolitan Region . The sculpture Overcoming Borders on the west side of the Wakenitz is a work by the sculptor Claus Görtz, who is based in Schattin on the east side .
