Claus Goertz

Claus Görtz (* 1963 in Neumünster ) is a German sculptor.

Life

Claus Görtz grew up in Lübeck . He trained as a carpenter, worked as a musician and then turned out to be self-taught the sculpture to. In 1991 he founded the Art & Design studio . In 1996 he joined the Wunderwerkstatt studio community . Since 2000, Claus Görtz has lived and worked in Schattin, southeast of Lübeck on the Mecklenburg side of the Wakenitz . Since 2002, the Schattiner artist community , which he co-founded, has held an annual art festival here. Since 2006 he has been a member of the Lübeck Painters and Sculptors Association , and since 2007 he has been teaching stone and wood carving courses at the art school of the Society for the Promotion of Charitable Activities . His works mostly show human figures.
