State Bibliography Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Bibliography (State Bibliography MV) has been compiled by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Library in Schwerin for decades and, with the aim of completeness, includes all of the regional literature on Mecklenburg , Western Pomerania (if it appeared after 1945), the so-called three "northern districts" of the GDR ( Rostock , Schwerin and Neubrandenburg ) and the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

All new publications related to this area have been recorded directly in the system since 1995.

For the period up to 1945 numerous subject groups were incorporated from the Historical Bibliography of Mecklenburg (Heeß). Publications about families and persons as well as about places are listed in full. The supplementary volume (Baarck / Grewolls) and other supplements are fully recorded. All title references to the printed editions of the “Mecklenburgische Bibliographie” and “Mecklenburg-Vorpommerschen Bibliographie” (1945–1996) are also included.

The state bibliography MV does not contain any literature on the Western Pomerania region published before 1945.

The inventory of references in the state bibliography MV is updated daily and already includes several hundred thousand titles on Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania. All title references in the state bibliography MV are also shown in the catalog of the joint library network .

The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state bibliography is part of the Virtual German State Bibliography , which has its own web portal.
