Ventschow is a municipality in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. The municipality is administered by the Amt Dorf Mecklenburg-Bad Kleinen , based in the municipality of Dorf Mecklenburg .

geography

The municipality of Ventschows belongs to the extreme northwest of the Mecklenburg Lake District . The community, surrounded by numerous small lakes, is approx. 16 kilometers from the Hanseatic city of Wismar and three kilometers from the northern tip of Lake Schwerin .

The Kleekamp district belongs to Ventschow. The former districts of Demelow and Neuhof were spun off from the Ventschow community on June 1, 1992 and incorporated into Bibow .

history

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Kleekamp was incorporated.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with a torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE VENTSCHOW • LANDKREIS NORDWESTMECKLENBURG".

Transport links

Ventschow has good roads to Wismar , Warin and Brüel as well as to the B 106 via Bad Kleinen . Ventschow station is on the Schwerin - Rostock line . The A 14 (Schwerin - Wismar) runs through the east of the municipality.
