Boiensdorf is a municipality in the northeast of the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The municipality is administered by the Neuburg office with its seat in the municipality of the same name .
geography
Boiensdorf is located north of the Hanseatic city of Wismar , the municipality includes the Boiensdorfer Werder peninsula , which protrudes about one kilometer into the Mecklenburg Bay of the Baltic Sea . The peninsula separates the Salzhaff from the strait of the Zaufe . Opposite the peninsula are the islands of Poel and Langenwerder as well as the Wustrow peninsula to the north .
The Scharberg, 1200 meters from the coast, is 54 meters above sea level and is the highest point in the coastal area between Wismar and Rerik .
Boiensdorf is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Am Salzhaff in the northeast, Alt Bukow in the east, Neuburg in the southeast and Blowatz in the south.
The districts of Niendorf, Stove and Werder belong to Boiensdorf.
history
As Boydwinesdorf , the place first appeared in a document in 1262 .
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities of Niendorf bei Blowatz and Stove were incorporated.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal
The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with a torn neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE BOIENSDORF • LANDKREIS NORDWESTMECKLENBURG".

Economy and Infrastructure
In addition to agriculture and fishing, several small businesses shape the community. The tourism division is represented by the campsite on Boiensdorfer Werder, restaurants and pensions.
Transport links
The community is located on the connecting road from Wismar to Rerik that runs almost parallel to the B 105 . In Neubukow , eight kilometers away, there is a connection to the Wismar – Rostock railway line .
