Passee is a municipality in the extreme northeast of the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). The community is administered by the Neukloster-Warin Office , based in the city of Neukloster .
geography
The municipality of Passees borders the Rostock district to the north and east and lies in a terminal moraine area that extends from the Baltic Sea coast near Kühlungsborn to the upper Warnow region. The community is about 25 kilometers from the Hanseatic city of Wismar and 25 kilometers from the Baltic Sea resort of Rerik . The surrounding area is characterized by extensive forests, moorland and very hilly terrain. The 118-meter-high Lünenberg in the municipality is the highest point in the Northwest Mecklenburg district. The elevations in the immediate vicinity (Fuchsberg, Butterberg, Passberg, Krähenberg and Schafäschberg ) also reach heights of over 110 m above sea level. NN. A Telekom radio tower is on the Butterberg.
Passee is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Satow in the northeast and east, Jürgenshagen in the southeast, Glasin in the south, Züsow in the southwest and Carinerland in the northwest.
The districts of Alt Poorstorf, Goldberg, Höltingsdorf and Tüzen belong to Passee.
history
Passee was first mentioned in a document in 1318.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Alt Poorstorf and Goldberg were incorporated.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal
The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with a torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "GEMEINDE PASSEE • LANDKREIS NORDWESTMECKLENBURG".
Attractions
The brick gothic church dates from the first half of the 14th century.
The protection park for rare and endangered breeds of domestic animals is an interesting destination for tourists a bit away from the coastal towns. To the north-east of Passee is an extensive deciduous forest with tumuli and Slavic settlement areas.
Economy and Infrastructure
A sawmill is operated in the Goldberg district and a gravel mill in the Tüzen district.
Transport links
Near Passee, the road from Neukloster to Kröpelin crosses the country road from Wismar to Rostock, which runs parallel to the A 20 .
