In neukloster-warin seven municipalities and two cities have joined together to do their administrative business. There is no separate administration, it has been transferred to the city of Neukloster , which is part of the office . On July 1, 2004, the former offices of Neukloster and Warin were merged. The office is located in the east of the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and borders the districts of Ludwigslust-Parchim and Rostock .
The official area between the Hanseatic city of Wismar and the upper Warnow is characterized by ground moraines and valleys in which there are numerous lakes. The largest are: Neuklostersee , Großer Wariner See , Groß Labenzer See and Neuhofer See . They are among the northernmost lakes in the Sternberg Lake District . The highest point in the official area is the Fuchsberg at 104 m above sea level. HN , after which a petrol station and rest area on the new A 20 Baltic Sea motorway was named.
In addition to the A 20, the federal highway 192 runs through the Neukloster-Warin office. A section of the A 14 from the Wismar junction to the A 24 (Berlin - Hamburg) runs between the municipalities of Jesendorf and Zurow .

The office does not have an officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off neck fur and crown and the inscription "AMT NEUKLOSTER-WARIN • LANDKREIS NORDWESTMECKLENBURG".
