Location of the Klützer Winkel office in the north-west Mecklenburg district | ||
The office of Klützer Winkel is located in the north of the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).
geography
The Klützer Winkel , which gave the office its name, is a peninsula in the Mecklenburg Bay between the Hanseatic cities of Wismar ( Wismar Bay ) and Lübeck ( Lübeck Bay ) along the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast . The highest point in this hilly area is the Hohe Schönberg at 89 m above sea level. NHN . Intact nature and the proximity to the Baltic Sea mean that tourism is becoming increasingly important. The beach sections are very varied - in addition to the cliffs of Großklützhöved and Kleinklützhöved, there are also long sandy beaches, especially on the almost circular bay of the Wohlenberger Wiek and the Eggers Wiek further east .
The connecting roads from Wismar via Klütz to Lübeck and (via the Priwall ) to Travemünde and from the Baltic seaside resort of Boltenhagen to Grevesmühlen lead through the office of Klützer Winkel . The town of Klütz was the terminus of the Grevesmühlen museum railway line. The Grevesmühlen – Klütz railway line was dismantled in 2006.

history
Five municipalities and the city of Klütz (administrative seat) are united in this office to handle their administrative business. The municipalities Damshagen, Moor, Parin, Klütz, Elmenhorst and Groß Walmstorf originally belonged to the office. On January 1, 1999, the previously independent municipalities of Moor and Parin merged to form the new municipality of Moor-Rolofshagen. The municipality of Elmenhorst was incorporated into the municipality of Kalkhorst on January 1, 2004 (previously part of the Ostseestrand office ). The Kalkhorst community moved to the Klützer Winkel office. On January 1, 2005, the new community Hohenkirchen was formed from Groß Walmstorf and Gramkow (up to then Amt Gägelow ). On the same day, the municipality of Zierow was added from the dissolved office Gägelow. On 7 June 2009, the community was bog-Rolofshagen after Damshagen incorporated. On July 1, 2011, Boltenhagen lost its status as an unofficial municipality when it was integrated into the office.
