The Eggers Wiek as part of the Wismar Bay

The Eggers Wiek is a sickle-shaped bay within the Wismar Bay on the southwestern Baltic coast of Mecklenburg . The beach section is about six kilometers northwest of the Hanseatic city of Wismar and is about five kilometers long. The coast is partly steep (up to 11  m above sea  level ), in the central part there are also flat sandy beaches. Across from the Wiek, the island of Poel is 3.5 kilometers away .

The Eggers Wiek is bounded in the northwest by the stony cape Hohe Wieschendorfer Huk , to the west of this hook the larger Wohlenberger Wiek opens . The Eggers Wiek coastline belongs to the communities of Hohenkirchen and Zierow in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg . In the Hohenkirchen district of Hohen Wieschendorf, the jetty is being expanded into a marina , which, in addition to a golf course on the Cape, contributes to the further development of the area for tourists.
