The eight communities Babst , Glasin , Krassow , Lübberstorf , Stadt Neukloster , Passee , Zurow and Züsow were united in the Amt Neukloster ( district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ) with headquarters in the town of the same name . On January 1, 2001, the formerly independent municipality of Babst was incorporated into Glasin, and one year later the municipality of Krassow was incorporated into Zurow. The office only existed for a few years and was dissolved on January 1, 2005. All municipalities belonging to the office were transferred together with the municipalities of the Warin office to the new Neukloster-Warin office .

The historic Neukloster office had become Swedish after the Thirty Years War in 1648, together with the city of Wismar and the island of Poel , and only returned to Mecklenburg at the beginning of the 19th century through the Malmö pledge agreement of 1803 .
