Wilhelmine Unzelmann-Werner , born Wilhelmine Franz (* 1802 in Berlin ; † March 11, 1871 ibid) was a German actress and singer ( soprano ).

Life

Unzelmann-Werner was the daughter of Johann Christian Franz , from whom she also received her first artistic lessons. In 1815, at the age of 13, she was engaged as an actress at the court theater in Berlin.

In the following year she achieved her artistic breakthrough with "Adele" in "Fanchon, the lyre girl" by Friedrich Heinrich Himmel . In the following years she shone more and more often in heroic and tragic roles. Later Unzelmann-Werner often took on comical parts.

Her first marriage since 1821 was to the actor August Unzelmann (1795–1833), a son of Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand Unzelmann and his wife Friederike Bethmann-Unzelmann . The actress Bertha Unzelmann was her daughter. After separating from Unzelmann, she married Ministerial Secretary Werner in 1835.

She died on March 11, 1871 in Berlin at the age of 69.
