Bertha Unzelmann (born December 29, 1822 in Berlin , † March 7, 1858 in Vienna ) was a German actress.

Unzelmann was the daughter of the actress Wilhelmine Unzelmann-Werner and a niece of the actor Karl Wolfgang Unzelmann .

Unzelmann trained as an actress and made his debut at the city theater in Stettin at the age of 20 ; 1842 she played the "Luise" in Kabale und Liebe by Friedrich Schiller . The success brought her an engagement at the Königstädter Theater in Berlin that same year , which lasted until 1843. She also shone as “Gretchen” in Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust .

From 1843/44 Unzelmann made guest appearances on various stages in Dresden , Hanover and Neustrelitz . In 1844 Unzelmann was signed to the theater in Bremen and played in Leipzig in 1845 . In 1847 she became a member of the ensemble at the Court Theater in Berlin. There she met the actor Joseph Wagner from Vienna, whom she also married the following year. Unzelmann followed her husband to Vienna at the end of 1849. At the beginning of 1850, Wagner was engaged at the Burgtheater and Unzelmann also got an engagement there for a few weeks after making her debut as "Titania" in William Shakespeare's Midsummer Night 's Dream .

In the course of 1857 she withdrew from the stage and no longer appeared seriously ill. Berta Unzelmann died of cancer on March 7, 1858 in Vienna at the age of 36.
