Testorf-Steinfort is a municipality in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. The municipality is administered by the Grevesmühlen-Land office with its seat in the city of Grevesmühlen , which forms an administrative community with the office.
The community Testorf-Steinfort was formed on January 1, 1999 from the formerly independent communities Testorf and Testorf-Steinfort.
geography
Testorf-Steinfort is about 10 km southeast of Grevesmühlen and about 20 km from Schwerin . The ground moraine area on the river is slightly hilly and reaches 77 m above sea level near the Schönhof district . NN .
Testorf-Steinfort is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Upahl in the north, Bobitz in the east, Alt Meteln in the southeast, Dalberg-Wendelstorf in the south, Mühlen Eichsen in the southwest and Rüting in the west.
In addition to Testorf-Steinfort, the districts of Testorf, Fräulein Steinfort, Harmshagen, Schönhof, Seefeld and Wüstenmark belong to the municipality.
history
Harmshagen: The estate owners were the Schwerin Cathedral (until 1791) as well as several families including Russow (until 1817), Thomsen (until 1841), Pauly (until 1885) and Flügger (until 1939). The neoclassical manor house based on plans by Theodor Krüger dates from 1860. On July 1, 1950, Harmshagen was incorporated into Testorf.
Schönhof: The estate was owned (from around 1500 (?)) By Heinrich von Bassewitz and its headquarters in the 17th and 18th centuries. Century of the family von Bassewitz (see also: Heinrich von Bassewitz (1469–1517), Achim von Bassewitz (before 1509–1560), Joachim von Bassewitz (1534–1610), Karl Ulrich von Bassewitz (1601–1666), Joachim Lütke von Bassewitz (1656–1745) and Detlof Hans von Bassewitz (1688–1764), Ulrich Carl von Bassewitz (1729–1798), Ulrich Carl Adolph von Bassewitz (1781–1866)). The unrenovated mansion (from?) Is still preserved. On July 1, 1950, the village of Fräulein Steinfort was incorporated into Schönhof, and from July 1, 1961, Schönhof was part of the Testorf-Steinfort community.
Testorf was a typical estate village with a leased estate of around 522 hectares in the 19th century. The manor house has been preserved.
Wüstenmark was an old farming village that was largely able to retain its structure. The place was incorporated on January 1, 1956.

Explanation of the coat of arms: In the coat of arms, the wave thread should symbolize the Stepenitz and the chestnut trees refer to the avenues connecting the individual districts of the municipality. While the half-length portrait of the virgin is a symbol of the name of the village, Fräulein Steinfort, which was used from the second half of the 18th century onwards, the rape blossoms represent the main occupation of the inhabitants, agriculture. |

Economy and Infrastructure
The community is agriculturally oriented, including a dairy cattle facility. The country castles in the districts of Schönhof and Harmshagen as well as the entire village complex of Wüstenmark are worth seeing.
Transport links
The federal road 208 from Wismar via Gadebusch to Ratzeburg touches the south of the municipality (district Miss Steinfort). The Grevesmühlen motorway junction ( A 20 ) is located six kilometers from the Testorf district . The stations of the neighboring communities Plüschow and Bobitz are on the Wismar - Lübeck route .
Sports
In the FSV Testorf-Upahl, which is operated together with the Upahl community , there are currently two men's teams and youth teams playing. Every year at the end of June / beginning of July there is a three-day sports festival with a tournament in which many clubs in the area take part.
