Plüschow is a district of the municipality of Upahl in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

geography

Plüschow is 9 km southeast of Grevesmühlen and is about 17 km from Wismar . The hilly surroundings are criss-crossed by numerous ditches that - united as a mill stream - drain to the Stepenitz .

In the north of the former municipality there is a wooded terminal moraine area that extends up to 113  m above sea level. NN increases. Here, in the Everstorfer Forest and south of the federal highway 105, there are important megalithic graves .

The districts of Friedrichshagen , Hilgendorf , Meierstorf , Naschendorf and Waldeck belonged to the community of Plüschow .

history

Friedrichshagen was founded by the German colonist Fredebern (Wredebern) around 1230. The name Vredeberneshagen changed to Frebbershagen and Friedrichshagen . The village belonged to the parish of Gressow. The village church dates from the 14th or 15th century.

Meierstorf was a small estate or domain. A simple, empty mansion with a central gable is elevated.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Friedrichshagen and Meierstorf were incorporated.

Naschendorf : There are four megalithic systems of different types here.

Plüschow: Phillip Heinrich von Stenglin had Plüschow Castle built in 1763.

The previously independent community of Plüschow was incorporated into Upahl on January 1, 2019. The municipality of Plüschow was administered by the Grevesmühlen-Land office with its seat in the city of Grevesmühlen .

The Plüschow stop is on the Lübeck – Bad Kleinen railway line . The federal highway 20 divides the former municipal area into two halves. The next junction (Grevesmühlen) is six kilometers west of Plüschow. The federal highway 105 touches the north of the former municipal area.
