coat of arms

Upahl coat of arms
Blazon : “Divided by a flame cut; above, in blue, a standing, bellied silver cow with a raised tail, accompanied on both sides by a golden clover leaf; below in gold three golden inseminated red roses with green sepals in bars. "

The coat of arms was designed by Michael Zapfe from Weimar . It was approved on December 19, 2006 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the number 306 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Justification of the coat of arms: In the coat of arms, the flame cut should symbolize both the emergence of individual districts through slash and burn and the earlier fire disasters in recent times. With the cow and the shamrocks reference is made to the traditional main occupation of the inhabitants, agriculture, especially cattle and dairy farming. The roses represent the dog roses that are a special attraction in the community.
