Michael Zapfe

Michael Zapfe (* 1963 ) is a German marketing specialist and heraldist who has designed numerous coats of arms for communities and places in Germany.

Career

Zapfe studied art and mathematics and dealt scientifically with intercultural education in the aesthetic field. Michael Zapfe is co-owner and managing director of the Erfurt-based Diemar, Jung & Zapfe advertising agency GmbH . He has been the creative head of graphics since 1990 and is responsible for the use of media technology in the company. He is a specialist in typography, packaging and editorial design and has received various awards for this. He has strong marketing expertise in the tourism, food and technology sectors as well as many years of experience in political communication. Zapfe is also an expert in the field of heraldry .

In particular, Zapfe produced new coats of arms for places in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , Saxony and Thuringia , which were necessary after German reunification as well as due to the reforms of the municipal structures at the turn of the millennium. This includes, for example, the coat of arms for the city of Hermsdorf , approved on August 30, 1994 , for which Zapfe chose the following blazon :

In silver a silver, red bordered supporting arch cross, which is covered with a red crosshair, the intersection of which is at the height of the shield foot; in front a green conifer, behind a black bear.
