On October 1, 1922, the Altenburg and Russian parts of the community were merged.

Bethenhausen Manor

The Bethenhausen manor was a manor suitable for state assembly . Associated with the possession of the manor was patrimonial jurisdiction in the form of higher and inheritance jurisdiction over part of the village of Bethenhausen. The higher jurisdiction was ceded to the state in 1838, the lower jurisdiction abolished on January 1, 1855. It was connected to the Reichstädt manor since 1661 .

Owners of the manor were the von Schönbergs , from 1710/17 the von Weißenbach family , from 1751 Marshal von Bieberstein , from 1770 von Schauroth and from 1787 von Beust .
