history

The first documentary mention dates from 1416. The village originally belonged to the Mildenfurth monastery and was added to the Principality of Reuss older line at the Congress of Vienna in 1815 .

In terms of church, the tiny area formed an independent church play. The village church , built in 1716, is interesting . Its 36 meter high ridge tower does not rest on the foundation as usual, but is anchored in the roof structure. This unusual construction is unique in Central Germany and is only found again in Lower Austria.

The Kühdorfer manor was also a specialty. It was a so-called ideal knight's seat. That is, the owner did not have any property in the village. His income consisted exclusively of loan money from the corporal farmers, interest, hunts, justice and the lower and higher courts. Numerous well-preserved farms characterize the current village image.
