Hartmannsdorf is a municipality in the north of the Greiz district in Thuringia . The fulfilling municipality is the city of Bad Köstritz . The districts Hartmannsdorf and Dürrenberg belong to the community .
geography
Hartmannsdorf is located northwest of Gera, near Bad Köstritz. A brook (Stübnitz) flows through the village and flows into the White Elster . Neighboring communities are Bad Köstritz and Kraftsdorf in the district of Greiz and the independent city of Gera .
history
On August 24, 1944, a US-American "flying fortress" type B 17 was shot down near Hartmannsdorf by a German Me 263 (rocket fighter). Five of the nine crew members survived by parachute jump, one of them was shot by a police officer while attempting to escape.

Attractions
The church has grown from a chapel since the 14th century through several renovations and extensions .
Economy and Infrastructure
The place is connected to the federal motorway 4 , which runs along south (junction 57 Rüdersdorf). The RVG Regionalverkehr Gera / Land bus line 205, which runs Monday to Friday except on public holidays, connects the town to Gera. The next train stations / SPNV stops are in Bad Köstritz and Gera-Langenberg .
