history
The place Lederhose was first mentioned in a Latin document on October 18, 1287. Lederhose is older, however, because the place has its origins in a Slavic settlement. Hence the unusual place name, which has nothing to do with the item of clothing of the same name , but arose from the Slavic personal name Ludorad : Ludoraz - the place of Ludorad. There were two water mills in the district and on the raft stream of Lederhose. It was the Obermühle and the Jacobsmühle . They were first mentioned in writing in Weimar in 1731 . Both were located on or in the area of influence of the raft pond, which was created in 1721. The Jacobsmühle burned down in 1897. It was supposed to be rebuilt, but the construction of the Niederpöllnitz and Münchenbernsdorf railway broke the plan. The raft pond was sold to a villager. The local church is largely Romanesque .
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Neuensorga was incorporated.

coat of arms
Blazon : “In gold, green trousers with straps and bib.” The coat of arms was adapted to the place name, and this resulted in leather trousers on the coat of arms, which, however, are not kept in the typical leather brown but in the local colors.
flag
The municipality's flag is yellow-green-yellow (1: 2: 1) striped lengthways and centered with the municipality's coat of arms.
traffic
Lederhose is located two kilometers east of the federal highway 9 and is connected to it via the 1073 highway. In May 2009, a newly established motorway junction 25b was named after the place because of the unusual and therefore memorable name.
The Lederhose station was on the Niederpöllnitz – Münchenbernsdorf railway line . Passenger traffic was stopped on May 28, 1967. The line has now been closed .
