description

The small hall church has grown out of a chapel since the 14th century through several modifications and extensions . It has staggered components of different ages. The tower-like, elevated western section on the ground floor is made of ashlar and is still of Romanesque origin. It is covered with a gable roof that supports a slate roof turret. The eastern, longer and polygonal part of the church was only built in the late Middle Ages from irregular masonry . A two-story extension for the sacristy and the patron's box was built on its south side in 1771 . It is covered with a low hipped roof . 1964 to 1967 the interior of the church was redesigned after the pulpit altar and the galleries in the nave were demolished . The church furnishings from 1967 are modest. In the east polygon there are two baroque epitaphs with inscriptions on cartouches , which are decorated with angels. The organ was built in 1841 by Ernst Poppe & Sohn . From 1991 to 1998 there was a comprehensive exterior and interior renovation of the church.
