history
Satow
In 1219 Prince Borwin I donated the Satow estate to the Westphalian monastery of Amelungsborn . The Cistercian monks built a church in the transition style between Romanesque and Gothic between 1219 and 1224 . In the 19th century it had become so dilapidated that a new, neo-Gothic church was built on the Kirchberg. The old church, which the Grand Duke had stopped demolishing, became a ruin. The old cemetery has become a park-like area.
After 1990, Satow became a center and meeting place for the Carpathian Germans from Slovakia who had moved to Mecklenburg . There is a larger local association of the Carpathian German Landsmannschaft Slovakia in Satow .
From 1952 to 2011 Satow and its current districts belonged to the Bad Doberan district (until 1990 in the GDR district of Rostock , 1990-2011 in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). The municipality has been in the Rostock district since 2011 .
Places of the community
Gerdshagen was first mentioned in a document in 1224. It was a village that was created by clearing the forest, hence the final syllable Hagen . The Gerdshagen estate was u. a. owned by the von Rehschinkel and Oertzen families (1459–1660, 1695–1772) and most recently by Otto Wiskott (1906–1945). Then it was settled. The manor house was rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style around 1900 , served various purposes after 1945, was privatized in 1998 and then renovated.
Gorow was first mentioned as a Slavic place in 1340 as Axekowsches Gut and was then for centuries the seat of nobility and knights, including the von Oertzen family from 1506 to 1767, followed by the von Bülow family . The moat, which is still partially preserved, indicates an original permanent house . The preserved manor house from 1882 in the style of a villa from the Wilhelminian era experienced many uses after the von Bülow family's expropriation in 1945 and is now privately owned.
Hanstorf was first mentioned in 1270 as Johannestorpe . In 1617 the estate was owned by Hans Barner , and in 1738 it came to Christoph von Lowtzow . The estate was later acquired by the grand ducal chamber and the domain was leased until 1939. The manor house was built around 1825 and is now privately owned; the former manor park is sprawled. The village church of Hanstorf is a remarkable architectural monument.
After October 6, 1326, Matersen , with its income and the mill after being awarded by Prince Heinrich zu Mecklenburg, was part of the property of the Dobbertin Monastery . In 1583 there was an exchange with the Sonnenkamp monastery for the villages of Schlowe and Nepersmühlen.
Miekenhagen was first mentioned in a document in 1224. The village belonged to Gut Siemen until 1582 and then to Gut Gerdshagen . The landowner was then u. a. the Mutzenbecher family (Hamburg) (until 1903).
Pustohl was owned by the Bibow family in 1464 . After that there was a frequent change of ownership of the property. In 1861 Karl Bobsin and in 1893 the Heydemann family owned the property. The manor house was built in 1868.
Radegast was a good u. a. owned by the von Plessen (from 1703), von Lepel (from 1742) and von Restorff (from 1809) families .
Rederank: Good u. a. of the families von Bülow (16th century), von Preen (1622–1800), Friedrich von Oeynhausen , Graf von Oeynhausen (until 1810), Erichson (1812–1867), Eggerß (until 1887), Alexander (until 1901) and Strack (until 1945), then resettled. The manor house (manor house) dates from 1892; Sold by the municipality in 1998 and then renovated.
Rosenhagen was mentioned in a document in 1224 as one of four Hagendörfern ( hag = enclosed by hedges). From 1802 Peter von Restorff was the landowner . The manor house was built in 1836 according to plans by Carl Theodor Severin ; after 1945 residential and village community center, convenience store , renovated after 1994.
