Werner Godemann

Werner Godemann (born March 25, 1924 in Satow ; † November 28, 2010 in Leipzig ) was a German actor .

life and career

Werner Godemann, born in Satow, Mecklenburg, moved with his family to Berlin , where he trained as a draftsman. After the war he worked as a shipyard worker in Rostock and moved to Güstrow to train actors . He got engagements in Luckenwalde, Potsdam, Neustrelitz and Eisenach until he became a long-term member of the ensemble and from 1995 an honorary member of the Leipzig City Theaters . At one of these stations he met his future wife Hannelore Brenner (1928–1990) - a soubrette at the Neustrelitz Theater; they became parents of three sons. Since the 1970s he has appeared in numerous character roles in contemporary films and comedies.

He worked for the Moritzburg TV theater in Halle from 1967 to 1990. In his court broadcast Von Fall zu Fall (1989) he played the chair in all nine episodes. Prior to that, he had leading roles in productions such as Drei Fastnachtspiele des Hans Sachs (1967), Dialog im Krankenzimmer (1970), Die Zaubernacht (1977) and Zweimal Katharina (1978).

His sons with their families, former actors of the Leipzig ensemble and friends said goodbye to him at the Leipzig South Cemetery on the snowy morning of December 21, 2010. The Leipziger Volkszeitung dedicated an obituary to him on 4th / 5th. December 2010.
