Hans-Jörg Packeiser

Hans-Jörg Packeiser (born March 31, 1956 in Hamburg ) is a German trumpeter , music teacher and university professor .

Career

Hans-Jörg Packeiser studied trumpet with Alfons Krause and school music in Hamburg, where he passed the state examination in 1983. He pursued further artistic studies with Edward H. Tarr . Packeiser is mainly active in the oratorio area and in the trumpet & organ line-up with modern instruments. He also frequently takes part in performances with compositions of works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Since the late 1970s he has been a regular guest at cantatas and oratorios in the main Hamburg churches of St. Petri , St. Katharinen and St. Jacobi . Packeiser has also been giving concerts in Ratzeburg Cathedral for over 25 years .

Artistic activity

Since 1983 he has appeared regularly at concerts with historical instruments from the Baroque period as a member of the Friedemann Immer trumpet consort (Cologne); with this ensemble he participated in numerous concert, radio and CD productions, including with La Petite Bande ( Sigiswald Kuijken ), the Leonhardt Consort ( Gustav Leonhardt ), Collegium aureum , La chappelle Royale Paris ( Philippe Herreweghe ) and the Concentus Musicus Vienna ( Nikolaus Harnoncourt ). Packeiser has also produced various solo recordings in the trumpet and organ line-up with Neithard Bethke (Ratzeburg) and with his sister, the church music director and organist Dörte Maria Packeiser in Heidenheim an der Brenz .

Packeiser has been teaching at the Lessing-Gymnasium in Norderstedt near Hamburg since 1985, and since 1997 he has also taught trumpet and natural trumpet at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater , where he was appointed professor in 2014.

In 1987 he became a member of the Gottfried Reiche Consort Hamburg . Packeiser is also the first trumpeter in the German Bach Orchestra .
