action
17-year-old Angelika moves with her family from Torgau to Leipzig. The parents won't get their apartment for six weeks. However, since Angelika is spending her Abitur year entirely in a school and is not supposed to change schools in the middle of the 12th grade, she initially moves to Leipzig alone and sublet with opera booby Frau Häublein until her parents' descendants. Philosophy student and professional cyclist Thomas Block, known as Tommy, is also renting from her. He is not at all enthusiastic about the new tenant because he is being moved to a smaller room because of her. Since Angelika tends to humming melodies for lost in thought, regularly blocks the bathroom and apparently has several admirers, the mood between the two is tense. In fact, Angelika is swarmed by numerous men: All the boys in her class are enthusiastic about her, on the trip to Leipzig she met Naval Lieutenant Hans-Dieter Hohmann, who has been writing her regularly since then, and photographer Erwin Schmitt is also courting her Angelika, who is not aware of her effect on men, received everything completely unnoticed and with naive friendliness.
Tommy is also increasingly confused by Angelika. One day at a bike race, Angelika stands on the track and enthusiastically cheers on Tommy, who is in the lead, so that he turns around to her and promptly has an accident. With a concussion he has to look after the sick bed and Angelika takes care of him. Tommy's trainer Hennes sees Angelika's commitment with mixed feelings. Tommy in turn is jealous of the many men who meet Angelika, so her school friend Harrer picks her up from home. When the next man rings the doorbell, Tommy reacts annoyed - but it is Angelika's father who wanted to check on his daughter. Tommy tells him about Angelika's numerous male friendships, but the father knows that his daughter is sensible. Nevertheless, he asks Tommy to take care of Angelika and he takes the task seriously.
Since Angelika spends more time with Harrer than with the other classmates, the boys in her class react dismissively and cut her. Angelika cannot explain the reason for this and her teacher Meta Müller recognizes that Angelika often still reacts naively and childlike. Only now does Angelika see her acquaintances in the right light. When the photographer Erwin, who thinks she is a teacher, takes them out, she wants to tell him the truth about herself and her age, but he beats her with a kiss. She slaps him and flees. Tommy, who saw everything, finally tells Erwin the background. The class, in turn, wants to talk to Angelika, but she hurries home so that all the students finally gather in their room and reproach her for their carefree, dissolute life. While Tommy in the next room gets rid of the naval lieutenant who actually wants to get engaged to Angelika, Harrer explains to his classmates that he and Angelika never had a relationship and that he even had to trick her into a meeting because she thought it was about a meeting with Class. At the end, Tommy appears and stands in front of Angelika. He accuses the schoolmates of judging their classmate without knowing her. Because if they knew her, they wouldn't be able to blame her.
At the end of the six weeks with Mrs. Häublein and Angelika moves out. She has realized that Tommy is probably the right one for her and kisses him when they say goodbye. Both will see each other often in the future and have exchanged addresses.

criticism
Contemporary critics praised the film as imaginative, enjoyable and full of ideas. "I cannot remember that one of our cities was ever brought into the picture as cheerful and joyful as it was here with Leipzig," said Friedrich Salow in the film mirror . Other critics complained that the film has no depth and "evades the really revolutionary processes of this everyday life ..."
For the film service , you and me and little Paris was a “cheerful and carefree portrait of two young people in the GDR in the early 1970s; not always convincingly staged. "
