Michael Grisko (born February 16, 1971 in Kassel ) is a German literary and media scholar , culture and foundation manager . He is a consultant for project development and funding at the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Hessen-Thüringen .

Life

From 1990 to 1996 Michael Grisko studied German , politics and European media studies in Kassel and Dijon . He then worked for five years as a research assistant at the Center for Cultural Research at the University of Kassel. During this time he laid the foundations for himself with publications and conferences on Heinrich Mann , nudism around 1900, film and literature in the Weimar Republic , Hans Fallada , emotional culture ( love, lust and suffering ) and contemporary media culture ( TV '99 ) Research priorities retained to this day, including the DEFA film for several years .

From 2002 to 2006 Michael Grisko worked as an editorial assistant at the ZDF -Landesstudio and at 3sat Kulturzeit . In this context, he accompanied, among other things, the long-term documentation of the Museum Island project of the century . In this context, he also published several articles on the topic of the Museum Island . During these years he was also temporarily employed as a research assistant in the DFG project Expositions: Exhibitions and Exhibition Aesthetics at the University of Kassel. In 2006 he received his doctorate summa cum laude from the University of Kassel with the study Heinrich Mann and the Seventh Art , which deals with Mann's relationship to film.

In Lübeck he was the scientific director of the Buddenbrookhaus from 2006 to 2008 and was responsible a. a. Exhibitions on Heinrich Mann's novel Der Untertan and the film of the same name by Wolfgang Staudte as well as on the portraits of the Mann family . As a scholarship holder of the DEFA Foundation , he processed the estate of DEFA director Albert Wilkening in the Potsdam Film Museum in 2009 and created the first monograph on Wilkening. At the same time he was the owner and head of the culture practice office (advising, curating, communicating) .

In 2010 Michael Grisko moved to the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Hessen-Thüringen as a certified foundation manager. There he is responsible for project funding and development in Thuringia. During this time he was u. a. responsible for the development and implementation of the projects Literaturland Thuringia , Filmspaß with Sir Reitmann and the artist scholarship program for artists in rural areas. As part of the Heimat Thüringen magazine ( Heimatbund Thüringen ), he edited thematic publications on the media region Thuringia (Issue 1/2012), Thuringia Foundation World (Issue 1/2013), Industrial Culture Thuringia (Issue 1/2018) and Places of Democracy (Issue 3 / 2019). The exhibition Filming Location Thuringia, curated by him, started in spring 2020 . DEFA productions 1946–1992 initially with positions in the state representation of the Free State of Thuringia in Berlin and in the Dacheröden house in Erfurt.

Since 2005 he has also regularly dealt with questions relating to museums and exhibitions. a. with regular discussions of exhibitions, contributions to the current debate and most recently as a discussion partner at the opening of the International Museum Day 2018 in Berlin. The project "Hör mal im Museum" (audio guide from children for children), developed and carried out by him in cooperation with the Thuringian State Media Authority for Thuringia, won the DAVID of the savings bank organization in 2020. a. is awarded for small foundation projects with a big impact.

Among other things, he taught as a lecturer in the intensive course in foundation management at the University of Leipzig and publishes a. a. in the journal for foundations and associations and foundations and sponsoring on topics of foundation and foundation management. Since 2018, together with Almuth Werner from Leipzig, he has published the series Foundations in Theory, Practice and History , published by the Leipzig University Press. He was a participant in the “ThinkLab” “Foundation action in the digitized world” of the Federal Association of German Foundations and deals with questions and effects of digitization in culture and in the foundation system. In addition, as a member of the Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft eV, he is responsible for the content and organization of the series “Thuringian Debate on Cultural Policy”, which has been taking place in Erfurt since 2015. The lectures have been published since 2017 in the series Current Contributions to Cultural Policy , for which he and Tobias J. Knoblich are responsible .

As a board member of Cinegraph Babelsberg eV (from 2010 to 2018) Michael Grisko was co-editor of the magazine Filmblatt and the series Filmblatt-Schriften . The anthologies he edited on DEFA directors Günter Reisch and Rainer Simon were created in this context .

Since the late 1990s Michael Grisko has been teaching in the field of literature and media studies, including a. at the universities of Erfurt , Flensburg and Jena . He is also an independent curator of film and lecture series (u a.. Günter Reisch: Between history and present film comedy , sports movie of the DEFA , DHM / Zeughauskino or DEFA in Thuringia , Erfurt University). He works as a publicist, speaker and moderator and works on various juries. In 2019 he was a juror for the Central German Citizens' Media Prize, since 2008 he has been a member of the jury of the GEDOK Literature Prize and gave the laudation for Ulla Hahn in 2010 and the laudation for Monika Maron in 2017 .
