Auwi Geyer
August-Wilhelm "Auwi" Geyer (born March 30, 1957 in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm ) is a German jazz musician ( trombone ); he heads the music school in Pfaffenhofen.
Geyer was shaped early on by making music together at home. His father played the trombone and was an amateur musician in various formations. He took piano lessons at the age of eight and the trombone at the age of 13. He studied at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich ; he also took lessons from Erik van Lier and Al Porcino . He worked in the big bands of Max Greger , Dusko Goykovich , Al Porcino, Hugo Strasser and Thilo Wolf . He can be heard on albums by Harald Rüschenbaum , Al Porcino and the Peter Thomas Sound Orchestra, as well as accompanying Manfred Krug & Charles Brauer . He is currently performing with the Odeon Dance Orchestra and in the 4Trombones trombone quartet .
