Stubbendorf is a municipality in the northeast of the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). The municipality is administered by the Office of Ticino based in the city ​​of the same name .

geography

The community of Stubbendorf is located in a ground moraine area about 30 km east of Rostock . Towards the southeast, the terrain slopes down about 20 m towards the Recknitz Valley . The closest small towns are Ticino and Bad Sülze .

The district of Ehmkendorf belongs to Stubbendorf. The Maibachtal nature reserve is partly located in the municipality .

history

Stubbendorf was first mentioned in 1371 as Stubbendorpe . In that year, Duke Albrecht II of Mecklenburg pledged the village to the Schwerin diocese .

Landowners were u. a. the families von der Lühe (Middle Ages to early modern times) and von Prollius (1802–1945) and was temporarily a subsidiary of the main estate of Dettmannsdorf. It used to be mainly used for sheep farming.
The neoclassical , single-storey mansion was built in 1904 by Paul Korff for Hellmuth von Prollius.

In 1651 and 1751 there were six farmers in the village. In 1751 80 people lived in the village.
The mechanical engineer Ernst Alban carried out scientific and technical studies at Gut Stubbendorf from 1827 to 1829. Since 1820 he was married to the landowner's daughter Margarete Wendt in Klein Wehnendorf. In 1929 he bought the property there from his mother-in-law and founded Mecklenburg's first machine shop.

Ehmkendorf: Landowners were u. a. the Röper families (before 1846), von Schack (until 1912), Ullner and Eduard Jesse (until 1945). The core of the manor house dates from around 1790 and was given its current appearance in 1864. The Gutshaus Ehmkendorf Friends' Association has been trying to maintain the property since 1996, which has been a wild herb hotel since 2007.

  • Stubbendorfer wild apple tree in the apple tree avenue between Stubbendorf and Ehmkendorf. It stands about 1 km east of Stubbendorf in the open field and is the oldest wild apple tree in Germany. A wooden plaque indicates an age of approx. 400 to 500 years and a trunk circumference of 4.5 m. The tree has since broken apart.
