Selpin is a municipality in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). It is administered by the Office of Ticino , based in the city ​​of the same name .

geography

The municipality of Selpin is located in flat undulating terrain southeast of the upper Recknitz in the headwaters of the Warbel , a small river that flows in an easterly direction to the Trebel . The entire municipality of Selpin is part of the Wesselstorf nature reserve . Selpin lies in a triangle between the small towns of Ticino, Laage and Gnoien .

Selpin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ticino in the north, Walkendorf in the east, Wardow in the south and Cammin in the west.

The districts of Drüsewitz, Reddershof, Vogelsang, Wesselstorf and Woltow belong to Selpin. Near gland joke was the NVA - the main command post Ticino . There is also the Wilhelmshof district, in which there used to be a district of the same name. Only a few remains of the wall are evidence of this today.

history

Selpin was first mentioned in a document in 1399. A 500 hectare estate existed in the village until 1929. After several changes of ownership, the estate was relocated in 1929 and 14 farms were built.

Reddershof was called Neuhof before 1860 and was a dairy of the Selpin estate, which became the main Reddershof estate. The von Henke family was the last owner until 1945. On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Reddershof and Woltow were incorporated into the community Selpin.
