The sea rescue boat (SRB) Eltje was a boat of the so-called 7-meter class of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People (DGzRS). The boat was built in 1972 by the Evers shipyard in Niendorf . The internal name was KRST 18.

Naming

Eltje is a Frisian woman's name; the naming of the boat with this name expresses the attachment of the DGzRS to the German coast.

Technical Equipment

The lifeboat was equipped with radio systems, echo sounder , GPS , external bilge pump and a rescue port.

Like all "real" boats of the 7 m class, the boat did not have a radar device (further explanation: Kaatje sea rescue boat ).

Stationings

The first location of the Eltje was from July 28, 1972 to 1973 Großenbrode . It was moved to the Lippe / Weißenhaus ( Behrensdorf (Baltic Sea) ) station on August 13, 1973, where the boat remained until it was decommissioned on November 16, 1992. In December 1992, it was scrapped.
