Klein Upahl is a municipality in the southwest of the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). The community is administered by the Güstrow-Land Office, which is based in the non-official city of Güstrow .

The municipality of Klein Upahl in the middle of the Mecklenburg Lake District is located in a hilly area between the cities of Güstrow, Bützow and Goldberg . The municipality of Klein Upahls borders the Ludwigslust-Parchim district . To the west of the community is the protected Groß Upahler See , a few kilometers south of the Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heide nature reserve . In addition to a manor house with a steak house restaurant, Klein Upahl also has an agricultural technology museum.

Klein Upahl is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gülzow-Prüzen in the north, Lohmen in the east and south and Mustin in the west.

history

The community was created on January 16, 1992 from the district of the same name of the dissolved community of Gerdshagen .

The municipality is located on the connecting road from Bützow to Goldberg, through the neighboring municipality of Gülzow-Prüzen the federal road 104 leads . The nearest train station is in the district town of Güstrow, twelve kilometers away.
