geography

The village on the federal highway 103 between Güstrow and Laage is located in a slightly hilly area that slopes east to the wide glacial valley of the Recknitz .

Sarmstorf is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Laage in the north, Kuhs in the northeast, Plaaz in the east, Güstrow in the south, Lüssow in the west and Mistorf in the northwest.

The district of Bredentin belongs to Sarmstorf.

history

Sarmstorf first appeared in a document in 1339. In the village, which has always been shaped by agriculture, the baroque village chapel and a monument dedicated to the land reform after 1945 are worth seeing.
