Record 58

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tonträger 58 was a record label founded in the early 1980s by Jörg A. Hoppe (* 1952) and Thomas Hermann in Hagen , primarily for German-speaking punk and NDW groups, which was named after the former Hagen zip code "58".

The released records included singles from the groups KeinMenscH! and X-square. On the sampler Alles aus Hagen , published in 1981 , 16 groups from the Hagen area appeared. New Deutsche Welle music was also released. The label goes back to the Hagen artist flat share " B 56 ", in which Hoppe's friend Gabi Lappen (KeinMenscH!), Jörg A. Hoppe, Wolfgang Luthe ( performance artist) and Kai Havaii ( Extrabreit ) lived and who were the nucleus of the Hagen's music scene applies. Label founder Hoppe was also the first manager of Extrabreit.

Hoppe turned increasingly to television projects in the mid-80s and stopped his label business when he moved to Berlin. In 2000 he received the Adolf Grimme Prize for his television production Pop 2000 .
