Hoppenrade is a municipality in the south of the Rostock district north of Krakow am See in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is administered by the Krakow am See office based in the city of the same name .
geography

The municipality of Hoppenrade is located between the district town of Güstrow and Krakow am See. The municipality on the edge of the Mecklenburg Lake District is divided by the breakthrough valley of the Nebel . This rare in Mecklenburg valley shape with rough edges is completely protected . The hills to the east and west of the valley are partly 40 m above the Nebel, near the district of Koppelow are 73 m above sea level. Reached NHN . To the east of Schwiggerow is the highest mountain . It is 84 m above sea level. NHN the highest point in the municipality.
Hoppenrade is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lalendorf in the north and east, Kuchelmiß in the south, Krakow am See in the south-west and Mühl Rosin in the north-west.
The districts of Koppelow, Kölln, Lüdershagen, Schwiggerow and Striggow belong to Hoppenrade.
history
38 families were settled in Koppelow in 1929 by the völkisch Artamanen movement.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Koppelow and Striggow were incorporated.
Attractions
- Gothic , single-nave village church Lüdershagen ; Field stone church from the first half of the 13th century with a retracted, square, dome-shaped vaulted choir , triumphal arch between the nave and choir and a younger tower under the common gable roof.
- A manor house in Hoppenrade, built in 1853 in the neo-renaissance style by Theodor Krüger , was used as a retirement and nursing home for 70 years; private apartments have been located here since the renovation in 2001. The listed ensemble includes a park and the inspector's house, which has been operated as a guest house since 2002.
- Gutshaus Koppelow: One-storey brick building from 1757/59 with a crooked hip roof and medium risalit ; Landowners were u. a. the von Levetzow family (from 1757 until the 19th century)

Economy and Infrastructure
The area around the community is dominated by forests and agriculture, tourism is playing an increasing role ( fog valley , Krakower See and Barlachstadt Güstrow ).
Transport links
The state road 37 (until the end of 2015 B 103 ) leads through the municipality from Güstrow to Plau am See . Hoppenrade has a train station on the Güstrow – Meyenburg railway line , on which regular passenger traffic was discontinued in 2000. The next train station for passenger traffic is in Güstrow. From Hoppenrade there is a feeder to the federal highway 19 ( Rostock - Berlin , junction Krakow ).
