Joachim Friedrich Krüger (born March 15, 1788 in Matersen ; † October 6, 1848 in Lübeck ) was a merchant and senator of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Krüger was supposed to study first and attended the Pädagogium Halle for two years . With the father's financial decline, the original life plan could not be realized and Krüger learned the trade of a businessman in Lübeck. Then in 1810 he worked for a short time in Wismar with the local Senator Erdmann and was financially supported by him when he started his own business in Lübeck for Erdmann, Krüger & Co. and initially became a member of the shopkeeper. In 1815 he became a member of the Lübeck Schonenfahrer . Krüger initially worked as a civil deputy in the city's committees. In 1839 he was elected to the city council as the senior man of the Schonenfahrer. He was active in the finance department, in the building deputation and in water art, there temporarily as president. In 1846, Krüger retired as a councilor because of his "continuing illness". He last lived at An der Untertrave 103 and had a summer house at Roeckstrasse 2, which later passed on to his son-in-law Senator Christian Theodor Overbeck .

His son was the Hanseatic ambassador Friedrich Krüger .
