About this picture

Kühsen is a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein .

geography

Districts are Hude, Donnerschleuse (partially) and Catharinenhof.

history

The village of Kühsen on the Lübeck-Berkenthin-Hamburg road connection or later Mölln-Steinhorst-Oldesloe was first mentioned in a document in 1230.

Four Stone Age settlement sites have been found in the Kühsen area. They lie on the "Sandfelln" and one on the "Viert", but all of them on the slopes in front of the Stecknitz lowlands. In addition, a number of individual finds (stone axes, scrapers, chisels) have been made and three burial mounds have been found in the Kühsen surcharge. The Wends later penetrated the country, which had become empty during the migration, from the east. The name Kühsen is also of Wendish origin.

Kühsen came to the newly formed district of Anker in 1889 and has been part of the Nusse office since 1948.

One of the outstanding events of the post-war period was the discovery of a bog body during drainage work in the immediate vicinity on May 5, 1960.

politics

Community representation

From 2008 to 2018 the AWK electoral community had six and the SPD three seats in the municipal council. Since the 2018 local elections, the KfK, which ran for the first time this year, has five and the AWK four of the nine seats.
