Geography and traffic

The place is about five kilometers north of Schwarzenbek . From 1887 to 1976 Havekost was a station on the Schwarzenbek – Bad Oldesloe railway line .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1228. Since 1962 the community has belonged to the Schwarzenbek-Land office .

politics

Since the 2008 local elections, the FWH voter community has all seven seats in the local council.
