Hamwarde is a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein, east of Hamburg . The community has no other districts.
history
The first documentary mention as Honwarde took place in 1230 in the Ratzeburg tithe register . The name is of Saxon origin.
Community representation
Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the SPD has six seats and the CDU five since the local elections in 2018 .

Blazon : “Divided diagonally to the left by gold and green. Above a red windmill growing at the division, below a golden horse head turned to the left. "
The mill and the horse's head stand for Hamwarde's agricultural character. Until 1950 there was a mill on a hill in the municipality.
