history

The Geesthacht-Land office was established in 1948. In 1994, when the administrative office moved from Geesthacht to Dassendorf, the name was changed to the Hohe Elbgeest office .

On January 1, 2008, the two communities and the forest district of the former Aumühle-Wohltorf office joined the Hohe Elbgeest office.
