Wiershop is a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein, east of Hamburg . The village of Heidkaten is located in the municipality.

history

Wiershop is first mentioned in a document as Wigershop 1230 in the Ratzeburg tithe register . The place name is of Saxon origin, the village is much older. For centuries it belonged to Gut Gülzow , which was in the possession of the old Lauenburg noble family of Schack for more than 400 years and then from 1736 to 1930 in the possession of the Counts of Kielmansegg .

politics

Local council, mayor

In the municipal election of 2008, received Wählergemeinschaft ABWW (General Civil Wählergemeinschaft Wiershop) all seven seats in the municipal council. Since the local elections in 2013, the ABWW has only received four seats. The Young List voter community, which did not run in the local elections in 2003 and 2008, received three seats. In the local elections in 2018, the ABWW was able to secure five seats in the municipal council, the Young List got two seats.

Hans-Ulrich Jahn has been the mayor since 1990.
