About this picture

Bliestorf is a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein . Gut Bliestorf belongs to the community.

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1380 as "Blystorpe" . The name refers to the "village of Blizza", which is an old Slavic nickname. The manor and the village belonging to it came into the possession of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck for a time, but returned to the Duchy of Lauenburg in 1747 with the Möllner Pertinenzien . From 1874 to 1928 the manor and the village were legally separate. Since 1888/89 the community has belonged to the Berkenthin district (formerly the district).

politics

Community representation

Of the nine seats in the municipal council has Wählergemeinschaft BWG since the local elections in 2018 four seats, the SPD four and the Wählergemeinschaft an Active Bliestorfer.

coat of arms

Blazon : "Divided by silver and green in three-mountain cut, top left a green beam turned to the right, below the frontal view of a silver gabled house."

The silver gabled house represents the parish hall, which until 1864 belonged to the farmer's bailiff , which was given in succession . The green beam is borrowed from the coat of arms of the Knights of Crummesse , who probably founded Bliestorf in the 13th century. The Dreiberg and the color green refer to the Bliestorf Forest, which covers more than a third of the area.

Manor house of Bliestorf

The “Neu-Bliestorf” farm complex was built around 1740 and goes back to the von der Sode family. The manor house was built in the Swiss style in 1843 by the landowner and chief forest master August Luis Detlev von Schrader (* 1827, † 1859), who acquired the estate from the von Rumohr family at the end of the 18th century (completed around 1843). The so-called "Alte Hof" was on Bliestorfer Hauptstrasse. The first documented owner of the estate was the Crummesse family. A number of great names from the history of Lübschen and Lauenburg subsequently owned the property, including names such as v. Death, v. Koehler and v. Wickede, who were mayor of the city of Lübeck. In 1910 the great-grandfather of the current owner, Baron Johann Rudolph v. Schröder II. (1852–1938), owner of the Hamburg bank Schröder Gebrüder & Co. , owned the estate.
