Brunsmark is a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in the Ratzeburg tithe register from 1230. From 1948 to 1970 the community belonged to the Gudow office , which in 1971 was merged with the Sterley office to form the Gudow-Sterley office and dissolved at the end of December 31, 2006. Since then, the municipality has been administered by the Lauenburg Lakes Office.

mayor

Since 2008 Iain Macnab has been honorary mayor of Brunsmark. Since he has only British citizenship , he automatically resigned from his post due to Brexit at midnight on January 31, 2020. His successor was Holger Heitmann on March 12, 2020.
