Office of Gudow-Sterley

The former office of Gudow-Sterley was in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein, east of the Elbe-Lübeck Canal on the state border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Around 6,000 inhabitants lived in the office on an area of ​​215 km². It included the following communities:

history

The offices of Gudow and Sterley were created in 1889 by order of the Prussian Minister of the Interior after Prussia took possession of the Duchy of Lauenburg . The Gudow-Sterley office was formed in 1971 from the Gudow and Sterley offices.

At the end of December 31, 2006, the office was dissolved. The municipalities of Grambek and Lehmrade joined the Breitenfelde office , Besenthal , Gudow , Göttin and Langenlehsten joined the Büchen office and the remaining seven municipalities joined the Ratzeburg-Land office , which was then renamed the Lauenburg Lakes Office .
